Gombe State, often referred to as the "Jewel in the Savannah", is one of Nigeria’s northeastern states. It was officially carved out of Bauchi State on October 1, 1996. Its capital city, also named Gombe, serves as the state’s political, cultural, and economic center.

Covering a landmass of approximately 20,265 square kilometers, Gombe shares borders with Borno to the east, Yobe to the north, Adamawa and Taraba to the south, and Bauchi to the west. The population is estimated at over 3 million people as of the most recent projections.

The state also has notable tourist destinations like the Bima Hills, Tula Battlefield, and the Dadin Kowa Dam, which supports irrigation, fishing, and hydroelectric power supply.
