Plateau State, located in Nigeria's North-Central region, stands out for its stunning natural scenery and unique geographical features. The population of the state is estimated to be around 3.5 million people, comprising over 40 ethnic groups including the Berom, Afizere, Anaguta, Tarok, Mwaghavul, and Ngas, each with its own unique language, traditions, and festivals.

The state’s cool weather and fertile soils support the cultivation of a wide range of crops such as Irish potatoes, maize, tomatoes, and cabbage. Plateau is also historically significant for its once-booming tin mining industry, which has left a legacy of artificial lakes and gorges across the landscape.
